Mrs Jayakody served 35 years with the Ministry of Education (MOE), including as a former Head of Department (English), and received the MOE Efficiency Award. She also taught Primary Science at The Learning Lab for 25 years.

Her teaching emphasises conceptual understanding, critical thinking and metacognitive skills. She helps students use scientific keywords accurately and develop confident, independent learning habits.
